Meals on Wheels

The mission of Meals on Wheels is to nourish, enrich, and strengthen the lives of older adults through daily meal delivery and human connections. Services include hot meal delivery five days a week to residents of Wake County who are 60 years old or older, are homebound and vulnerable. Disabled residents under 60 can also qualify for the program. Additional services include nine Friendship Cafes where seniors can meet for a hot meal with their peers five days a week. Meals on Wheels currently serves 1,800 lunchtime meals using 12 volunteer locations, including Saint Andrews Church. Volunteers to deliver meals are always needed.

“I have been delivering meals for Meals on Wheels for many years, and it has been very rewarding to see the gratitude of the people who are served.  We need to make sure that these deserving people continue to receive the help that Meals on Wheels provides.”

-SAPC MEMBER, Tom Gogswell
